Our Mission:

To inspire the Nantucket community to explore ideas, share information, and highlight the island’s people, stories and culture through local television and online programming.

Our Board of Directors:

Dan Driscoll (President & Clerk) held a camera in his hands for the first time when he was ten years old. Fast forward many decades, he has since directed hundreds and hundreds of national and regional television commercials and films over much of the globe and his photograph’s grace the cover and interior of several books about Nantucket. The self-described ‘visual artist’ and his wife Connie moved to Nantucket fulltime in 1997 after falling in love with the island in 1971 when they first started visiting. He continues to create short brand films and commercials for Nantucket non-profits as well creating wedding films for a few select clients.

Bob Thompson (Vice President) has been part of NCTV since the inception of the station.  Currently a technology specialist for Nantucket Public Schools, bob has devoted his life to helping Nantucketers connect through technology.

Art Bergeron focuses on elder law as an attorney at Mirick O’Connell, a full-service firm in central Massachusetts. Art started coming to Nantucket in 2013 to present elder law educational seminars at the Saltmarsh. At about the same time, he began doing local cable interview shows in several communities including Nantucket to acquaint seniors with the people and programs they should know about in order to age in place. Art firmly believes in NCTV’s importance as an anchor of discussion of new ideas and relevant information that benefits the island’s community.

Jason Bridges is a Nantucket entrepreneur and owns the Handlebar Cafe and Nantucket Bike Tours.  Jason is active in organizing and participating in events that build community involvement and engagement.  He served as the chair of the Nantucket Select Board in 2019 and he has been a member of the NCTV board since 2013.

John Copenhaver (Treasurer) moved to Nantucket year-round in 2007 and became an active member of the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. That activity morphed into an interest in film and film-making. Four years ago he was drawn to NCTV by the Nantucket Short Film festival and has been involved with NCTV ever since making short films and now on our board.

Tom Dickson and his wife MJ moved to Nantucket in 1979. He has been involved in island commerce, community boards, and town committees since that time. One of his last ventures was owning and operating Orange Street Video and recently created KIC/KEEP IT CLEAN, an initiative to educate children and adults how to be responsible for their environment, whether on-island or around the globe. 

Kristie Ferrantella is a native Nantucketer. She is currently the Vice President of the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce and was elected to the Nantucket Select Board in April 2019. Kristie has a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and loves using data to make decisions. She joined the NCTV board in May 2019.

Beverly Hall was born in New York City. She studied art history at Columbia University and received her master of arts degree from Johns Hopkins.  For fifteen years she was a photographer-in-residence at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. In 2002, she received a Master of Divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Hall lives in Madaket where she pursues her other passion -gardening -on the same property she has lived in for over 50 years. She has served on the board of the Nantucket Arts Council for over 15 years and was the recipient of the NAC 2017 Merit Award.

Merrill Mason is currently an art and photography teacher at Nantucket High School. Merrill recently joined the board and hopes to continue fostering a relationship with NCTV and the schools. Outside of school and NCTV, she owns a gardening company on the island.

Florencia Rullo is the Town of Nantucket Public Outreach Coordinator. She is an English to Spanish translator with a minor in design. Florencia uses her passion for language to better connect people. She has been a member of the NCTV Board since July 2017.

Our Staff:

Lisa Getter accepted the role of Executive Director for NCTV in 2014. Lisa hails from the UK, and moved to Nantucket in 2001.  Lisa has always had a passion for photography and film— Really, her specialty is capturing Life.   She was a founding partner for Nantucket Event Media that specialized in multimedia services on Nantucket in 2003.  She is also a successful business woman in budget and finance management for select island businesses.  Email her at lisa@nctv18.org

Arlene O’Reilly is our Director of Development and Marketing as of January  2019. Arlene has been coming to Nantucket since the early 1980’s. Raised in New York City, Arlene holds a BFA from St. John’s University where she studied Commercial Design and Cultural Psychology. She received her MA in Communication Design from Syracuse University. Arlene is the founding partner and  Creative Director and for a design agency, Mind’s Eye Communications, base on Nantucket for 20+ years.  Arlene has joined NCTV as the Director of Marketing and Development part-time and enjoys teaching communication design classes at NCTV. Email her at arlene@nctv18.org

Andrew Cromartie has joined the staff as Station Manager, Producer and Instructor at Nantucket Community Television. Cromartie grew up on Nantucket, dabbling in music, acting and filmmaking. He received his degree from the New York School for Film and Television and has acted, produced and directed for theatre and film in Boston and New York.  Email him at: andrew@nctv18.org

Dee White grew up in Windsor, Connecticut. Her interests in video production began in high school continued on as she studied cinematography at the University of Hartford. Dee began working at Win-TV, in Windsor, CT, in 2010, starting out as a video editor and moving up to production supervisor & lead editor. She joined the NCTV team in early 2018 as a videographer & editor. She is excited to become part of the island community. Dee is our lead editor, email her at: dee@nctv18.org

Frank Schadt left freelance film work in August of 2018 to join NCTV18. He began honing his filmmaking, editing, and directing techniques in 8th grade. From then he never looked back, creating his own short films while attending film school and working on commercial shoots. Maria Waickowski grew up in Wellesley, MA and vacationed in Nantucket for most of her childhood. Maria was a news reporter, where she reported on a feature film. She has previously worked in production for a live DC-based production company as a Talent Coordinator/Production Assistant as well as a PA for American Idol, Assistant Judge for American Inventor and a Location Scout for a small film. She has volunteered at previous film festivals and participated in the 48 Hour Film project. She is excited to grow her skills further with the NCTV team as our Executive Assistant. Michael Mofsen grew up in St. Louis, MO and moved to Nantucket with his wife Charity Grace in November 2015. He graduated from Maharishi University of Management with a B.S. in Sustainable Living and is a Berklee College of Music alumni. Sammy Aguiar: Born and raised on Nantucket, Sammy holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont where she studied both studio arts and zoology. She then received a Master’s in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design, where she co-wrote and helped animate the award winning short film “Snow Boat.” She enjoys pursuing both her interests in animation and animals by teaching animation classes at NCTV and working as a caregiver at the Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals shelter.
